#18 Zoho Writer Entry

Book Review of "A Taste for it" by Monica McInerney

I first read this book six years ago when it was a new title that I borrowed from work to take on my Honeymoon. I found that I enjoyed the story and could at times relate to the main character, Maura Carmody. One of the things that I enjoyed about the story was the way in which Maura had her own troubles yet managed to get on with the job at hand, which was promoting Australian wines overseas in Ireland but also promoting her Brother's winery in the Clare Valley in South Australia. Maura struck me as the kind of person I would like to know and have in my friendship circle. Maura has her own wishes and desires, has a go at trying to get them but also has time for family and friends. This is one of several stories which I will return to when I need to have some time reading an old friend. I have discovered this with several of Monica McInerney's books.
