I think that Wikis have great potential within Library world. We can use them to disseminate information to the public. We can have Wiki sites where the public can put book reviews and ask questions of the Library. Making use of Wikis within the Young Adult websites maybe a good way in which to reach the young adult audience which has a reputation of being one of the hardest to keep in Libraries or accessing the Library tools.
I found the article by Peter Blake, "Using a Wiki for Information Services: principles and practicalities" interesting as it showed the good side of using a wiki but also acknowledged the down side that may occur. Overall, I found that the article seemed positive which is what many of the discovery resources were saying.
A wiki could be used as a branch form of communication between staff as it would eliminate the need for emails to fly from one computer to the next one along between staff. If staff could read a wiki and post to it as required this would be a useful tool for communication. It would save the person who is writing the email to make sure they have remembered to include any extra staff for that day in the email.
